DWALIN DeBoer

Dwalin DeBoerCareer Highlights:
Being selected to the Technical Leadership program at GE Plastics, getting hired at Mack, and being allowed the freedom to affect change in several areas of both organizations. My promotion to Business Unit Director was my most recent highlight

Community Involvement:
I am involved in the community as much as possible and have spent many a late night planning school and community functions. The most significant thing that I have done for the community is to organize a now annual summer camp fair that is held every spring. This camp fair unites parents with summer camp providers and has become a great resource for both parents and summer camps.
The community involvement that I have the most fun with currently is coaching my son's K-1 soccer team.

Favorite part of job? I am energized by people and love discussing and creating business strategies. I enjoy working with people to solve problems and implement sustaining solutions.

Most inspiring mentor? Many people have mentored me along the way. I don't have one person that I can give this title too. My managers and colleagues who have believed in me, taught me, and challenged me have all helped me grow. The most inspiring people that have supported and taught me at Mack are Jeff Somple, Joan Magrath, Julie Horst, and Lee Fox.
My husband has been an incredible sounding board through my entire career and has supported through and through. My mother has been a silent motivator for my entire life as I have admired her incredible strength and her balance of career, family, and self.

Who is your living hero? I don't have one

Favorite downtime activity? Spending family time with my husband and two boys- we enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, tennis, canoeing, or just snuggling and reading.  I also enjoy gardening and have five perennial beds.

Favorite Vermont Escape? My husband and I love to vacation in the Burlington area and spend almost all of our vacation time there. If we vacation in the city, we have a tradition of going to the Skinny Pancake for breakfast, walking church street to go to the Outdoor Gear Exchange, and finally taking a cruise on Lake Champlain. If we choose to have an outdoor getaway, we will either go camping or to the Trapp Family Lodge where we mountain bike, swim, and play tennis.

Favorite social network? I prefer face-to-face networking of any kind.

Favorite website? Google.

Vermont Business Person you would most want to network with? Any and all.
