Career highlight(s): The career highlight I'm most proud of is when I was selected by Credit Union Magazine as a Credit Union Rockstar. It started with nominations from my own credit union and I ended up 
being recognized nationally through that experience. It provided a tremendous sense of belonging and purpose to my career.
Community Involvement: My community involvement includes volunteer opportunities through my employer primarily, and various credit union-based organizations like the Association of Vermont Credit Unions, and the Credit Union Young Professionals of VT. My company supports the VT Foodbank all year, and our flagship fundraising event is the Point to Point which has raised nearly $500K since VSECU took over the event in 2018. I'm so thankful my company and the AVCU provide plenty of community engagement opportunities, it makes volunteering a breeze!
What motivated you to live and work in Vermont? I was motivated to live and work in Vermont because this has always been my home. I'm from the Northeast Kingdom and have always had a strong sense of place. There's almost a 'if you can make it here you can make it anywhere' vibe to these hills that I have embraced. I had no urge to leave VT after high school like many of my classmates. Over the years I've seen a lot of them return to raise families here...because it's a great place to live!
Favorite part of your job: My favorite part of my job is listening to the stories of my clients. I always try and listen more than I talk and it's amazing what you can learn from others when you give them the opportunity to share what's important to them.
Most inspiring mentor and why: My most inspiring mentor is Brian Bishop at VSECU. He has shown me that being successful doesn't have to come at the expense of others, in fact, quite the opposite. The more we help others achieve success and confidence, the more abundant our own lives become.
Favorite Vermont escape: My favorite Vermont escape is any of our beautiful hiking trails.
Favorite Super Hero and why: My favorite super hero is Captain Planet. He's our hero...he's going to take pollution and bring it down to ZERO!
Favorite Social Media and why: My favorite social media is Twitter. It's the only one that I haven't repeatedly uninstalled or deactivated over the years! I use Twitter for the news and to follow trends.
Person you would most like to share a Vermont beverage with: The person I'd most like to share a Vermont beverage with is Cormac McCarthy. He's my favorite author and his command of the English language is awe-inspiring.
If you had unlimited access to funds, which cause(s) would you support: The cause I would support is St. Jude's Children's Hospital. I can't think of anything more unfair in this world than a child experiencing cancer.
What is the one song on your playlist that are you embarrassed to tell your best friend? The song on my playlist I would be embarrassed to tell my best friend is 'Always Be My Baby' by Mariah Carey.
Where do you see yourself professionally in the next 5-10 years? In the next 5-10 years I'd like to be doing what I'm doing now. This is the way.
What career goal(s) would you like to accomplish in the next 5-10 years? The career goals I'd like to accomplish in the next 5-10 years are reaching senior advisor within my company, to continue mentoring young professionals, and focus on my leadership skills.
