SARAH Chadburn

36 | Community National Bank | Commercial Loan Officer
Residence: Newport

Career highlight(s): The career highlight I'm most proud of is my willingness to always learn new things and dive in has allowed me to grow leaps and bounds in my career.  Being involved in the Risk Management Association (RMA) allowed me to be more confident not only in my job, but also in other organizations that I am now involved in.

Community Involvement: My community involvement includes being a board member of Northern Community Investment Corporation (NCIC) and Secretary of Newport City Downtown Development (NCDD) as well as the Vice President of the Vermont Chapter of the Risk Management Association (RMA).

What motivated you to live and work in Vermont? I was born and raised in Vermont and attended college in Burlington.  I never thought of working anywhere else as Vermont has such a strong sense of community and has so many things to do!

Favorite part of your job: My favorite part of my job is working with customers to help them expand or grow their businesses.  It is so rewarding to know that you have helped someone reach their goals that they may have been working for years at accomplishing.

Most inspiring mentor and why: I have been so lucky to have incredible mentors over the years.  They have pushed me outside of my comfort zone to realize my full potential and have always been there to listen and offer advice.  Jen & Regan, I don't know where I would be without you both!

Favorite Vermont escape: Having gone to college in Burlington and now living in the Northeast Kingdom, I love going back to Burlington.  There is so much to do there and you can't beat Church Street!

Favorite downtime activity: My favorite downtime activity is sitting out on my deck with a beverage and good book looking out over the Willoughby Gap.  So relaxing!

Person you would most like to share a Vermont beverage with: The person I'd most like to share a Vermont beverage with is my husband!  We enjoy checking out all the amazing breweries that Vermont has to offer!

If you had unlimited access to funds, which cause(s) would you support: The cause I would support is animal causes such as local shelters or the Humane Society.  Having adopted both my dogs from a local shelter, I know the importance of supporting these incredible organizations.

Where do you see yourself professionally in the next 5-10 years? In the next 5-10 years I envision myself still learning and growing in my career.  I also see myself mentoring and empowering a new generation in their professional career as well as getting them involved in their local communities.
