Career highlight(s): The career highlight I'm most proud of is opening up a successful store on our family farm and building a growing agritourism business alongside my business and life partner Jacob. 

 

Community Involvement: My community involvement includes being a Board Member of the Vermont Sugarmakers' Association, Dancer in the 2019 Season of Dancing with the Rutland Stars VNA Fundraiser, Volunteer for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Out of the Darkness Walk, Community Representative for the Real Rutland Campaign, and Community Event Volunteer in the town of Chittenden. 

 

What motivated you to live and work in Vermont? I was motivated to live and work in Vermont to carry on our 100-year-old family tradition of Vermont maple sugaring while living in one of the most beautiful states in the country close to family. 

 

Favorite part of your job? My favorite part of my job is being able to be creative with my own business - from graphic design work, label creations, social media, newsletters, product development while at the same time being able to share our farm story with our customer base and farm friends. 

 

Most inspiring mentor and why: First and foremost my most inspiring mentors are my family (mom, dad and sister) but secondly Jon Satz, owner of Woods Market Garden in Brandon, VT has been an incredible mentor to me. I worked for Jon for over 13 years of my life and have learned so much from him about how to run a successful farm and business. 

 

What is the best career advice you have received? The best career advice I have received is to build things big in anticipation of growth. 

 

Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: Few people know that I have over 100 houseplants.

 

What three words best describe you: Three words that best describe me are: creative, organized, and hardworking. 

 

Favorite Vermont escape: My favorite Vermont escape is the Chittenden Reservoir in my own backyard but I also love exploring any areas of Vermont I have not been. 

 

Favorite downtime activity: My favorite downtime activities are flower arranging, gardening, and growing giant pumpkins. 

 

Favorite Social Media and why: One of my favorite social media pages is Rutland Positive Spotlight - I love seeing all the positive things are going on in my community. 

 

Person you would most like to share a Vermont beverage with: I would most like to share a Vermont beverage with Fred Tuttle.  

 

If you had unlimited access to funds, which cause(s) would you support: If I had unlimited access to funds I would support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Vermont Food Bank.
