Catamount Solar is a local, Vermont-based, member-owned worker’s cooperative specializing in affordable, high-quality solar power system design and solar installation services. In 2011 we were established as an LLC organized as a worker’s cooperative.  Rather than employees, all company workers are members of the cooperative, sharing its ownership responsibilities and receiving compensation dependent on company profit, and in proportion to their contributed labor.  We provide the opportunity to become an employee-owner of the company & thereby have a say in decision-making and receive profit sharing. Our company is a full service operation from the distribution of product to contractors and alarm companies, to the central station which provides the monitoring. We handle everything in between: Design/Build, Installations, Service, and Inspections. Our products are Honeywell, which are American made. We are a family-owned and family-focused company. Our management team will help employees during tough times. We provide subsidized, quality, secure apartments for employees and families on premises with six acres of green space to play, bike, walk, even garden. We provide in-office training and pay for continued training. The majority of our employees have been taken from low wage jobs and retrained by Countryside for quality wage jobs. In order to help our family of employees, we allow for children to be at the work place.

20) Basin Harbor

Basin Harbor Club was established in 1886 by Ardelia Beach and has remained family owned for 130 years. Today, guests are greeted by fourth generation hosts, Pennie Beach and Robert H. Beach, Jr. and fifth generation Sarah Morris, Director of Sales. Originally a 225-acre working farm catering to summer boarders, the resort has expanded to cover 700 acres on Lake Champlain, encompassing the main lodge, cottages, a private golf course, spectacular gardens, a 3,200 foot grass airstrip and serving food grown by Vermont farmers.

LORD Sensing-MicroStrain in Williston, Vermont, is a global, ISO-9001 certified, award-winning developer of sensing technology, including inertial sensors, wireless sensing systems, displacement sensors, and custom software. From rapidly-deployed test and measurement technology to customized, long-term embedded solutions, LORD Sensing-MicroStrain’s innovations are designed for a wide variety of applications, including structural health monitoring, condition-based maintenance, navigation and control, environmental monitoring, and rotating component health. LORD Sensing-MicroStrain’s technological advances have been recognized by Sensors magazine with more than a dozen Best of Sensors Expo awards, and by Machine Design magazine, the State of Vermont, the Manufacturing Leadership Council, and many others. Since 2013 LORD MicroStrain has been proud to be named the annual Best Places to Work in Vermont list. MicroStrain was founded in 1987. In 2012 it was acquired by LORD Corporation. 9) Vermont Information Processing, Inc.

VIP was founded in 1973 as a data collection and processing company. VIP keyed clients’ sales from paper invoices into a computer and provided clients with summarized sales reports. As computers became more affordable to individual businesses, VIP expanded its own in-house software and sold the product as the VIP Route Accounting System. As a specialist in the beverage industry, VIP has developed a complete software package that is second to none in meeting the specific needs of beverage distributors/bottlers. VIP has developed solutions for all three tiers of the beverage industry. In 2002, VIP started developing software solutions for suppliers.  VIP currently collects data and provides solutions for over 100 suppliers. Over the years, VIP’s technological and business solutions for beverage distributors expanded to include: a complete financials package; PDA handhelds and other mobile devices for sales reps, drivers, and merchandisers; innovative applications for Warehouse Management Systems such as automated truck loading, voice picking, and task management; iDIG sales analysis tools; electronic report capture, email, and retrieval; and Cloud Solution.

10) Stowe Mountain Resort

Stowe Mountain Resort is a four season resort on the highest peak in Vermont. We offer a variety of recreational activities to include skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, cross country, indoor climbing wall, ice skating and snowboarding in the winter months.  Summer activities include 2 golf courses, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, tennis, zip tour and tree top adventure center.  Open year round is a 330 unit four star hotel, condominiums, children's adventure center, day care center, 12 dining establishments, a spa, performing arts center and multiple retail shops. The Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) is a nonprofit energy services organization founded in 1986 to reduce the economic, social, and environmental costs of energy consumption. 18) City Market, Onion River Co-op

City Market, Onion River Co-op, is a 16,000 sq. ft. community-owned food cooperative located in beautiful downtown Burlington, Vermont. City Market is Burlington’s only downtown grocery store, open 363 days per year from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. City Market provides a critical service to the residents of Burlington and the larger community by providing conventional, organic and local products at a fair price to all. Over 4,000 customers pass through our doors each day in search of the quality products offered by City Market. The Co-op is dedicated to supporting the local economy and strengthening the local food system. We work with thousands of Vermont vendors to feature a wide selection of local and Vermont-made products. We are member-owned, so the profits generated by Co-op members are returned to our members in profitable years through our Patronage Refund program.

Heritage Family Credit Union is a not-for-profit federally chartered cooperative that is owned by its members.
