JESSICA Dennison

Favorite Part of Job: Everything! I've always wanted my own business and I love it all, but I particularly enjoy my employees and customers.

Most Inspiring Mentor: Dan Shea. He was there for me from the beginning of my business adventure and I know would still be glad to lend advice to me anytime I needed it.

Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: I love helicopters, and it is on my bucket list to fly in one someday.

Favorite Vermont Escape: My home. There is nothing better than the quiet of our farm with my children and husband.

Favorite downtime activity: Riding my horses. I have Rocky Mountain horses that I train to do obstacles.

Favorite Social Media: Facebook. It allows me to keep in touch with friends and family that I normally would not have the time to.

Person you would like to share a Vermont beverage with: My Grandmother. She lives far away and we don't get to speak much. I miss her.

What is the best career advice you have received? To never think you know it all, and always be open to learning new things. To be humble.

Where do you see yourself professionally in ten years? My goal is to grow as a company and be a bigger provider of employment to my community. Hopefully around 25 employees.

Community Involvement:

I purchased VMS (formerly Rutland Industries) in 2011. Through VMS, employment is offered to as many individuals with disabilities as possible. Through the sale of Rutland Industries, not only was all our debt paid off, but the remaining proceeds were donated to the United Way of Rutland County to be redistributed to other local not for profits. On top of the mission to employ people with disabilities, We are involved with their local cub scouts, and grow a vegetable garden for the employees.
