Favorite Part of Job? Working at Basin Harbor Club has introduced me to people from all over the world.  Returning guests and staff have been part of my extended family for my whole life.  As the Director of Sales I now describe my role as helping people enjoy all that Basin Harbor has to offer; whether that's a family reunion, a wedding, a group retreat, or a day spent on the Lake.

Most Inspiring Mentor: I wouldn't be the person I am today without my mother's guidance and influence.  From a young age she has encouraged me to reach and work for those things that are important to me.  Her network of colleague was the foundation for my working career and has helped introduce me - directly and indirectly - to much wider circles on a state and national level.

Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: While I don't enjoy blood or gore, I do appreciate having the wherewithal to handle any situation.  That appreciation, and the dream to be an outdoor educator, spurred me to certify as a Wilderness First Responder.

Favorite Hobby: I am a lover of the great outdoors, a gastronome, and a world traveler.

Favorite Vermont Escape: My favorite escape is playing in or on Lake Champlain.  While it isn't always easy, an annual swim across the Lake (in the narrows) is a personal priority.

Favorite Social Media: www.upworthy.com

Favorite Website: www.101cookbooks.com

Vermont Business Person you would like to have lunch with: Pete Johnson from Pete's Greens.  I might bring a recorder to soak up all he has to say about sustainable food production, education, and cooking.

Career Highlights: I attended Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration and worked at a 5-star-5-diamond resort in Colorado, a 4,000+ all-suite hotel in Las Vegas, and an international restaurant company in New York City, all before graduating.  At age 22 I was the Director of Sales and Marketing for a private resort in Florida.  During a brief career in Boston I managed a 220-seat jazz club in Harvard Square.  Moving back to Vermont and working with my mom and uncle as the fifth generation of our family to manage Basin Harbor Club.  And being chosen as one of VBM's Rising Stars in Vermont.

Community Involvement: Currently: New England Inns and Resorts Association Board of Directors; Vermont Convention Bureau Board of Directors; Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Tourism Committee, Economic Development Task Force for the City of Vergennes (VCRD Community Visit Participant); Addison County Chamber of Commerce Lodging Committee Member; Vermont Travel Industry Conference Planning Committee Member; Vermont Chamber of Commerce Marketing Committee; Vergennes Partnership Member; Vermont Association of Wedding Professionals Member; Vermont Event Professionals Steering Committee
