MICHAEL Ly

Favorite Part of Job? I love meeting with entrepreneurs, coaching my employees, and meeting new customers.

Most Inspiring Mentor: Erik Widmark was ran a nonprofit I had my first accounting job at.  He ran every staff meeting as if we were leading the most important company in the world.  He taught me three things - show up, always say thank you, and kill them with kindness.

Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: I enjoy listening to R&B music.

Favorite Downtime Activity: Eating ethnic food while talking faith, politics and culture - in no particular order.

Favorite Social Media: Facebook.

Person you would like to share a Vermont beverage with: Tony Hsieh - CEO of Zappos.

Where do you see yourself professionally in ten years? I will probably be running my next company after having sold my current one.

Career Highlights: My career is filled with starts.  I got my first accounting job at 16, started my first company at 19 and started management consulting after college.  I became the senior financial leader of a national consulting firm in Seattle in 2008.  I started my own consulting practice in 2012 and started ReconciledIt.com in 2015, which has grown to 9 employees in just over a year.

Community Involvement: I volunteer as a leader with my church, serving there since 2012.  I serve on the Board of Sara Holbrook Community Center in Burlington.  I am also the treasurer of the PTO at CP Smith Elementary.
