OWEN Brady

Favorite Part of Job? Working with my customers and resolving their concerns, ensuring that they are free to focus on their business.

Most Inspiring Mentor: My coworker Stephen Wark. His passion, diligence, and thoughtful insights have taught me many important lessons about life.

Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: After spending five years as a competitive ballroom dancer, I started taking voice lessons last fall to study opera and musical theater. I will be appearing in Lyric theater's fall production: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Favorite Downtime Activity: Traveling to different micro-breweries throughout the state to experience the flourishing craft-beer culture in Vermont.

Favorite Vermont Escape: Camel's Hump. I've hiked it in every season and it never fails to fill me with a sense of wonder.

Favorite Social Media: Facebook

Favorite Website: www.gizmodo.com. A science and technology website that covers everything from new product releases to discussions of theoretical physics.

Vermont Business Person you would most want to Network with: Bob Stiller, founder of Green Mountain Coffee. He capitalized on a great idea and built one of the most successful companies in the history of Vermont.

Career Highlights: My career has featured many exciting moments thus far. From commissioning new manufacturing systems to facilitating the construction of new buildings to assisting Vermont Gas with its efforts to construct the largest expansion in company history, there have been many moments that have made me thankful for the opportunities I've had and for the chance to work with talented companies and employees in the state of Vermont.

Community Involvement: I currently serve on the leadership boards for four different non-profit organizations. I am the President of USA Dance Chapter 3033: Green Mountain, whose mission is to increase the quality and quantity of ballroom dancing in the USA. I was a lead volunteer for Mission: Possible, an adventure race designed to engage young professionals and to raise money for the United Way of Chittenden County. I am a member of the steering committee for the Burlington Young Professionals, a division of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. Finally, I am the President Elect for the Burlington Choral Society.

One of my favorite parts of living in Vermont is the multitude of opportunities to get involved. It is so easy to find a group that shares your passion and to give back to the community that does so much for us. I've learned that even giving just one hour of your time helps to make our state a better place.
